...after 5 or 6 Vue crashes it was time. Considering all the problems and seeing no hope of fixing Vue it was deleted permanently. Source disks deleted as well as assets in .vob format. Just had to stop playing around and get serious. I also have alot of Poser assets that i've used in Vue so tested them in Maya. Of course the meshes in .obj import fine but...every texture has to be created and imported. The several I experimented with only had the pic texture, no bump map etc. It would be better I think to just texture myself in Substance. My wish for using these assets was to be able to kitbash a small environment and not spend alot of time creating every single asset. Time is at a premium. I really like lighting in Maya so will be doing small scenes, just probably not with nice props lol. My modelling skills are very rusty.
Ok, so dragging through the old Vue assets folders and keeping the objs that may be of use, working on some tuts for unreal Lighting but mostly studying for my cert. Had to free up additional time and scale back gaming time. yep, time to be more of an adult because I can't get my adult stuff done in the time allotted. I want to try the lighting tutorial I had used for my Lighting final at Animschool, from the Treddi site and well theres several other great ones as well.
But, Vue is finally and permanently laid to rest. It just became completely unusable.
